July 12 is still a part of July and the month is nutrition month and so the title.

Hi-Tech Bayanihan

"Hi-tech" bayanihan

Who says bayanihan is limited only to transferring "Bahay-Kubo" from one location to another? Bayanihan is just a term for group effort.
The Department of Computer Science and Technology in Visayas State University will be transferring to its new building. Computers and all other equipment and furnitures alike will be transported. To make the burden less heavy and fun, bayanihan was done.

The trip

“Fly away from here. Anywheeeere……” The loud and hoppity beat of the music coming from the Nokia 6120 is enough to awaken me from my deep slumber. It is Friday, the 27^th of June, 2008. As I slowly moved and stretched my still sleeping body, I uttered a silent prayer of thanksgiving. It is the day that I should be getting ready for the 3-day Online Training in Clarkfield, Pampanga.

In my 27 years of existence, this would be my very first time to board a plane alone. With the fast thumping of my heart, the sweaty palms and the rumbling sound of the airplane's engine is no help at all to calm my nerves. Maybe, a hot and strong coffee might help. But, life must go on. I must face my fears. Courage is not absence of fear, it is the mastery of it. Now, where did i hear that cliche anyway? (read more...)
